Search for intimacy.

As a counterpart to The Repro Project, where man is dependent on his created machines, Manchines is inspired by the ever-increasing communication with his environment through technology/digital forms of communication. Camiel searches for boundaries of intimacy. Especially now, at a time when we are forced by Covid-19 to avoid personal contact, he fears an alienation of intimate physical connection between people.

In Manchines, Camiel challenges himself to get off stage and take on the role of director/choreographer. During PHASE 2 Camiel collaborates with artists from different backgrounds and explores the connection between his artistic vision and handwriting, and whether these are transferable to the physicality of others.
